This film captures the ensemble’s blend of jazz, R&B, soul, and contemporary Black music, bringing the energy of the stage directly to the screen.

Attending a boarding school for orphaned young adult males, Daniel & Elias share stories of their fathers’ tragic fates, chase each other in the dandelion field, and smoke cigarettes in secret until Elias wakes one morning to find they fell asleep beside each other shirtless and catches a glimpse of someone spying on the intimate scene. Under assumptions of his homosexuality, Elias is preyed on by his peers, leading to his silent estrangement as he joins the other orphans in one final display of masculine conformity.

Through family history, generational lessons, and the weight of legacy, Abalene discovers what it means to step into her power and claim her place as a healer.

Legacy (2023) follows a struggling college student whose complacency in class leads to a life-changing punishment. After embarrassing his professor during a donor event, he is forced into a secret campus program that claims to “preserve the legacy” of Black leaders. What begins as a lecture on purpose and discipline turns into something far darker, revealing the pressure placed on young Black students to perform, conform, and sacrifice themselves for institutions that demand everything. The film explores expectation, identity, and the cost of carrying someone else’s legacy.
